►4.
Since Jehovah will not share his glory with any created being (Isaiah
42:8; 48:11), how could the
Lord Jesus ask the Father to “glorify Me alongside yourself with the glory
that I had alongside you before the world was” (John
17:5) - NWT)? How could
Peter ascribe glory to Christ (2
Peter 3:18)? How could the
angels, the elders and the living creatures ascribe glory to the Lord Jesus (Revelation
5:12)? How can Jesus return
in the glory of His Father (Matthew
16:27)?
►5. How can Jehovah refer to Himself as
being pierced?
Zechariah 12:1 makes it
plain that Jehovah is the speaker in all of the 12th Chapter of
Zechariah. In verse 10, He says, “they shall look upon Me whom they have
pierced.” We all know that the Lord Jesus was the One who was pierced on the
cross (or torture stake, if you prefer), and
Revelation 1:7
states that every eye shall see Christ as the One who was pierced.
►6. How can both Jehovah and Jesus reveal
themselves by the same name “I AM”? (Exodus
3:14; John 8:58, 18:5, 6 & 8).
►7. How can both Jehovah and Jesus be
called the “first and the last”? (Isaiah
41:4; 44:6; 48:12; Revelation 1:11-17, 2:8, 22:13).
►8. Why do you refuse to recognize that
Jesus is Jehovah?
Isaiah 6:1-10 speaks
of Jehovah;
John 12:37-41
refers to
this passage and applies it to Jesus.
►9.
If Jesus was only a man, why
did He accept worship from men?
(Matthew
2:2, 8, 11; 14:33; 15:25; 20:20; 28:9; Mark 5:6; 15:19; Luke 24:52; John 9:38).
Why did God say “Let all the angels of God worship Him.” (Christ)? (Hebrews
1:6)
The Jehovah’s Witnesses first taught that
Jesus was to be worshiped, and then they changed their doctrine and taught
that He is not to be worshiped. In answer to the question, “Was Christ
really worshiped, or is the translation faulty?”, the October 1880 issue
of the Watchtower magazine stated, “yes, we believe our Lord while on earth
was really worshiped, and properly so...It was proper for our Lord to receive
worship...” (Watchtower Reprints, Ill, July 15, 1891, p. 2337). “He was
the object of unreproved worship even when a babe, by the wise men who came to
see the newborn king...Jesus never reproved any for acts of worship offered to
Himself... Had Christ not been more than man, the same reason would have
prevented him from receiving worship.”
Article II of the Charter of the
Watchtower Society of Pennsylvania states, “The purposes of this society
are:...public Christian worship of Almighty God and Jesus Christ; to arrange
for and hold local and world-wide assemblies for such worship.” But now
Jehovah’s Witnesses are taught that they are not to worship Jesus. On page 31
of the January 1, 1954 issue of the Watchtower we read, “...No distinct
worship is to be rendered to Jesus Christ now glorified in heaven. Our worship
is to go to Jehovah God.” (The Watchtower, Jan. 1, 1954, p. 31).
The New World Translation of the Holy
Scriptures attempts to solve the problem by using the word “obeisance”
when referring to Jesus and the word “worship” when referring to Jehovah or
God. They have convinced their followers that this is correct. I have in my
files many letters from Jehovah’s Witnesses stating that this is the correct
translation.
However, any witness can take his Kingdom
Interlinear Translation and see that the same Greek word is used when
referring to worship of Christ and of God. The translators of the NWT have
arbitrarily used the word “obeisance” to promote their false,
unscriptural position, which is that Jesus Christ is not God, and does not
deserve to be worshiped as God, He is not as good a man as Peter, Paul or John
who refused to be worshiped. (Acts
10:16 & 25; 14:11-18; Revelation 19:10).
►10. In the light of
Acts 4:12,
are we saved by the name of Jesus or the name of Jehovah?
►11. If Jesus Christ is not God, why did He
not correct Thomas when Thomas addressed Him as “My Lord and my God”? (John
20:28 - NWT).
►12. What happened to the body of Christ?
There is not one Jehovah’s Witness on the face of the earth that can answer
this question. The Watchtower Society teaches that Christ was raised as a
spirit person. Their doctrine concerning the resurrection of Christ is based
primarily on
1
Corinthians 15:44 & 45;
“It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. And so it is
written, the first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a
quickening spirit.” What folly to take this Scripture and to teach that
Christ was raised as a “spirit person”.
The Bible plainly says there is a natural
Body and a spiritual Body. The natural body is the body that we have now; the
spiritual body is like the body that Christ had when He was raised from the
dead. Christ was raised with a spiritual body, and NOT as a spirit person. The
Lord Jesus is a life giving spirit, but this does not mean that He is a “spirit
person”.
1 Peter 3:18
is another verse the Jehovah’s Witnesses use to substantiate their position.
This verse states that Christ was quickened by the Spirit. The Bible teaches
that each person of the Trinity had a part in the resurrection of Christ. He
was raised by the Father (Acts
10:40; 13:30). Christ was
raised by His own power (John
10:17 & 18).
1 Peter 3:18
and Romans
8:11 teach that Christ was
raised by the Holy Spirit.
But with all of their twisting of the
Scriptures, they still cannot answer the question what happened to the body of
Christ. In years gone by, they claimed that His body was dissolved into gases
or that it was preserved as a grand memorial. But since both of these theories
are too ridiculous even for Jehovah’s Witnesses, they now say that it is
irrelevant as to what happened to His body.
Accompanied by a Christian brother, on
March 30, 1976, I visited the headquarters of The Watchtower Bible and Tract
Society in Brooklyn, N.Y.. While going through their mammoth printing plant, I
asked a number of the young men workers, “What happened to the body of
Christ?” All of them admitted that they did not know, and considered the
question to be irrelevant. I sought for an interview with one of the WT
officials, and before this gentleman learned my identity, I asked him the same
question. He replied, “What difference does it make?” When he learned
my identity, he refused further discussion with me.
The Bible teaches that the atoning death
of Christ and the bodily resurrection of Christ are the two main pillars on
which the Christian faith rests (Romans
4:25; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
In the name of Jehovah, I plead with you to prayerfully study the 24th
Chapter of Luke and see if it does not clearly teach the bodily resurrection
of Christ.
All of us like to “save face”. We are
ashamed to admit that we do not know all of the answers. We have a strong
tendency to defend our position whether it is right or wrong, but we are fools
when we do this. What folly to pretend to give the correct answer, when we
know in our heart that we re being deceptive. In the Name of Jehovah God, I
remind you that one day you will stand in His presence and account to Him for
the answers that you have given to these question.
Jehovah’s Witnesses cannot answer these
questions. One hundred and ten thousand copies of this have been sent to
Jehovah’s Witnesses all over the world. Only three Jehovah’s Witnesses have
even attempted to answer these questions.
I challenge the Watchtower Bible and Tract
Society to publish answers to these questions.
I ask you to write the Watchtower
Bible and Tract Society and ask them to
publish answers to these question. They cannot do it. Of course, if you did
write and ask them to answer these questions, and you already are a Jehovah’s
Witness, you would be afraid of being "disfellowshipped" from. However, God has not
given us the spirit of fear, but of love and of a sound mind (2
Timothy 1:7).
