Son of God?  One God?

According to the religion of Islam, Allah, the god of the Koran (Quran) had no Son.  We quote that very fact from the Koran in Sura 23:91 - “Never did Allah take to Himself a son ...”.  Many proclaim that the god of Islam and the God of Christianity are the same god.  They are not.  The Bible clearly tells us that God does have a Son, and He is called the Son of God.

Any devoted Muslim will tell you that “the Scriptures are corrupted.”  However, I assure you my Muslim friend that the true God of the Bible has protected His Word.  Instead, let the Scriptures correct you and give you understanding to the truth.

Even the demonic world knew Him as the Son of God.

Matthew 8:29 – “And behold, they cried out, saying, "What do we have to do with You, Son of God?  Have You come here to torment us before the time?"

Therefore, we must realize that the god of the Islam cannot be the God of the Christian, the Lord God.

Mark 1:1 testifies – “The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.”

Again, even the demons knew Him to be the Son of the True Living God.

Mark 3:11-12 – “And whenever the unclean spirits beheld Him, they would fall down before Him and cry out, saying, "You are the Son of God!  And He earnestly warned them not to make Him known.”

The Angel Gabriel made this announcement to Mary.

Luke 1:31-35 - "And behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.  He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and His kingdom will have no end."  And Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?"  And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son of God.”

Gabriel announced to Zacharias that he stands in the presence of the true God.

Luke 1:19 – “And the angel answered and said to him, "I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God; and I have been sent to speak to you, and to bring you this good news.”

Was Gabriel lying to Zacharias?  I think not.

Nathaniel had a conversation with Jesus.

John 1:49-51 - Nathanael answered Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel."  Jesus answered and said to him, "Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these."  And He said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you shall see the heavens opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

Later in the Book of John, he again tells us about God’s Son.

John 3:14-18 - "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; that whoever believes may in Him have eternal life.  For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.  For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.  He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

While the Holy Scriptures clearly teach that the only way to eternal salvation is through Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, the Koran, through the written words of Mohammed, teaches that Allah will destroy anyone who believes that he has a son.  The applicable Sura from the Koran and the written words of Mohammed follow:

The Immunity
Sura 9.30 - “And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!”

With respect to the begotten Son issue, Allah cannot be the God of the Bible.  The Scriptures are blatantly clear that God has a begotten Son and that His Son is the only way to salvation.  Meanwhile, the Koran teaches that Allah does not have a son and that those who believe that he does will be destroyed.  Therefore, Allah is NOT the God of the Bible!

John clearly reveals to us that Jesus was and is the Son of the true God of the Bible.

John 5:25-32 - "Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear shall live.  For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself; and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.  Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs shall hear His voice, and shall come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.  I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.  If I alone bear witness of Myself, My testimony is not true.  "There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the testimony which He bears of Me is true.”

Jesus even referred to Himself as being the Son of God.

John 11:1-4 – “Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.  And it was the Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.  The sisters therefore sent to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick."  But when Jesus heard it, He said, "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified by it."

Martha also testifies about Jesus being God’s Son.

John 11:21-27 – “Martha therefore said to Jesus, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.  Even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You."  Jesus said to her, "Your brother shall rise again."  Martha said to Him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day."  Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"  She said to Him, "Yes, Lord; I have believed that You are the Christ, the Son of God, even He who comes into the world."

John tells us about the death of Jesus Christ.

John 19:16-18 – “So he then delivered Him to them to be crucified.  They took Jesus therefore, and He went out, bearing His own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha.  There they crucified Him, and with Him two other men, one on either side, and Jesus in between.”

The Holy Scriptures specifically teach that Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, was crucified approximately two thousand years ago for the sins of mankind.  They hung Him on a cross to die a criminal’s death.

1 John 2:2 further testifies - “and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.”

According to the Bible, everyone can achieve redemption and everlasting life through God’s only begotten Son and His shed blood at the cross.

Romans 6:23 – “The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Jesus, the Son of God, died for all of us so that we can live forever.  This is the Good News of God’s saving grace for mankind.  However the Koran, through the spoken words of Mohammed, adamantly rejects the crucifixion.  The applicable Sura from the Koran follows:

The Woman
Sura 4.157 “And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the apostle of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure.”

With respect to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, it is apparent that the Gospel message in the Bible is radically different from the message given by Allah through his prophet Muhammad.  By Muhammad’s denial of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ through his teachings in the Koran, the fact is undeniable that the God of the Bible cannot be Allah.  Their messages are substantially different since both Muhammad and Allah reject the God of the Bible’s only begotten Son.

The God of Islam is a false pagan god that does not exist.  He is a false invention by a false lunatic named Mohammed.

One of the basic fundamental principles of Christianity is the concept of the God-head, or Trinity.  Christians do not believe in three Gods; they believe in a Triune God.  Firstly, the Bible teaches that the LORD manifested Himself to the world in three ways.

John 1:1 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Secondly, His Word was made flesh in the form of His only begotten Son.

John 1:14 – “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Finally, Jesus describes how the Holy Spirit was manifested to the world.

John 16:13-15 - "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.  He shall glorify Me; for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose it to you.  All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said, that He takes of Mine, and will disclose it to you.”

Furthermore, Jesus describes the Holy Spirit as ‘another Helper’.

John 14:16-18 – “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you.  I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

According to the Book of Acts, this was fulfilled in the upper room on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples and they all began to speak in tongues.

Acts 2:1-4 – “And when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.  And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent, rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.  And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.”

The Jews knew He proclaimed Himself to be the Son of God.

John 19:7 – “The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and by that law He ought to die because He made Himself out to be the Son of God."

The Book of John ends with his closing statements about the gospel of John and Jesus.

John 20:30-31 – “Many other signs therefore Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.”

Philip explains the gospel to the Ethiopian eunuch.

Acts 8:32-37 – “Now the passage of Scripture which he was reading was this:  "He was led as a sheep to slaughter; In humiliation His judgment was taken away; And the eunuch answered Philip and said, "Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself, or of someone else?"  And Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him.  And as they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, "Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?"  [And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."]”

Saul also preached that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Acts 9:19-20 – “Now for several days he was with the disciples who were at Damascus, and immediately he began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues saying, "He is the Son of God.”

Paul’s Letter to the Romans clearly teaches Jesus as the Son of the True God.

Romans 1:1-4 – “Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh, who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord,”

Paul proclaims Jesus Christ as the Son of God to the Corinthian church.

2 Corinthians 1:18-19 – “But as God is faithful, our word to you is not yes and no.   For the Son of God, Christ Jesus, who was preached among you by us by me and Silvanus and Timothy was not yes and no, but is yes in Him.”

Paul also writes to the believers in the churches of Galatia.

Galatians 2:20-21 - "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.  I do not nullify the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly."

The believers in the church of Ephesus were also addressed by Paul.

Ephesians 4:11-15 – “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fulness of Christ.  As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ,”

Other clear references made to the Son of God appear in the Book of Hebrews.

Hebrews 4:12-14 – “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.  And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.  Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.”

Hebrews 6:4-6 – “For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God, and put Him to open shame.”

Still another warning is given from Holy Scriptures to believers who might fall away.

Hebrews 10:28-31 – “Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.  How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?  For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay." And again, "The Lord will judge His people."  It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

The Apostle John refers to Jesus as the Son of God many times.

1 John 3:7-8 – “Little children, let no one deceive you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

1 John 4:13-15 – “By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.  And we have beheld and bear witness that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.  Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.”

Perhaps this Scripture will convince you that Jesus Christ is indeed the Son of God, and by believing on His shed blood as complete and total payment for all your sins, you can have eternal life in His Name.

1 John 5:4-13 – “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world our faith.  And who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?  This is the one who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood.  And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth.  For there are three that bear witness, the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.  If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for the witness of God is this, that He has borne witness concerning His Son.  The one who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the witness that God has borne concerning His Son.  And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.  These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life.”

In conclusion, the God of the Bible manifested Himself to the world in the person of Jesus Christ when His Word was made flesh, as we are reminded from the Book of John.

John 1:1 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:14 – “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Furthermore, He manifested Himself to the world when His Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples in the upper room on the day of Pentecost.  This is a brief illustration of the Godhead, or Trinity: three persons in one God, or God manifesting Himself in three persons.

In absolute contradiction to the Scriptural foundation that God is a Triune Being, according to Muhammad, Allah has a completely different makeup.  The applicable Sura from the Koran, which refers to Jesus by the name of Isa, emphasizes that Allah is not three.

Sura 4.171 “O followers of the Book! “BIBLE” do not exceed the limits in your religion, and do not speak lies against Allah, but speak the truth; the Messiah, Isa son of Marium is only an apostle of Allah and His Word which He communicated to Marium and a spirit from Him; believe therefore in Allah and His apostles, and say not, Three.”

Therefore, with respect to the Godhead, or Trinity, only one conclusion can be made:  Allah is NOT the God of the Bible!

True Christians need to understand these simple truths so as not to be influenced by society’s thinking.  Many well meaning but ignorant believers think that the god of Islam is the same God of the Bible.  This to be sure is false.  There is only One God.  All other gods are enemies of the cross of Jesus Christ and should be exposed and shunned.

Ephesians 5:7-11 – “Therefore do not be partakers with them; for you were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.  And do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;”

May we grow in the truth of God’s Holy Word, and through Jesus Christ His Son.

Finally, God spoke all these words concerning others gods.

Exodus 20:1-5 - "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.  You shall have no other gods before Me.  You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.  You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,”

Allah is the ‘other’ god.
